AN EDITORIAL APPROACH TO WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY, SHAPED BY YEARS SPENT IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA

Austin Warnock is a photographer based in Michigan and available for travel worldwide. His work is guided by a deep appreciation for film—its softness, its honesty, and its enduring sense of time. Featured in publications such as Martha Stewart Weddings, Southern Weddings, and The Wall Street Journal, his imagery reflects an approach grounded in both artistry and restraint.

Before stepping behind the camera, he spent years working in the fashion industry as a model—an experience that continues to shape the way he sees and directs. With an intuitive understanding of what it feels like to be photographed, he guides with subtlety and intention, attuned to the quiet shifts in movement, light, and expression that bring an image to life.

The result is work that feels both refined and deeply human—imagery that lingers, where beauty is not imposed, but revealed.

“When planning our wedding, the most important thing to me was choosing the right photographer. As my husband would say, I am obsessed with pictures. We wanted to find someone who we could trust that would produce beautiful work at the same time. Austin and Becca blew our expectations to say the least.

They came to Chicago for our engagement session and it started pouring rain about an hour in. Instead of calling it a day and rescheduling, Austin thought we should take advantage of the weather and get some pictures in the rain. All of us were completely soaked and Austin produced such unique/amazing photos.

Unlike most photographers, Austin sends all of your photos printed to you in a beautiful package. I was not expecting this at all and was blown away when I saw the presentation of our photos. Austin’s personal touches and customer service is exceptional.

Throughout the planning process, Austin and Becca did a great job checking in and making sure they had all of the details down. They both have great taste and know what works at weddings so it was great having them to bounce ideas off of.

The moments they captured on our wedding day were unbelievable. Austin is truly an amazing artist and his eye for imagination and detail is incredible. I didn’t even know some of the beauty existed that he captured at our venue. The photos he had our bridal party and family stage were beyond beautiful. His knowledge of film/photography/use of light is unreal.

I can’t say enough good things about Austin and Becca. They are worth every penny. We will cherish these photos for the rest of our lives. We can’t thank them enough for capturing our big day so perfectly.”

“Everyone hopes to find that magical photographer that will bring their wedding to life year after year. With Austin and Rebecca, my husband and I hit the jackpot. I don’t think it’s possible to say “thank you” enough for the breathtaking photos, your attention to detail, your adventurous spirit, for not being a “typical” wedding photographer (I could go into further detail, but I’ll spare you) and for tackling our wedding with so much grace. You’ve proven that these aren’t just photos, but they’re individual pieces of art that we are so proud to own.”

“When it comes to ‘no regrets’ decisions in planning our wedding, choosing Austin Warnock is at the top of the list. Austin and Rebecca put us at ease from our first cup of coffee to talk about our vision through the final send-off. Even though my husband and I are often uncomfortable in front of the camera and in the spotlight, (hello, wedding day!), they gracefully helped us laugh and relax into a fantastic day celebrating the joy and wonder of our union surrounded by family and friends.

They went above and beyond, scoping out the lighting of our outdoor barn wedding the day before, and capturing beautiful landscape shots that hang in our home today. And while some photographers would have gotten justifiably ruffled at trying to corral our large family for photos, with several “disappearing” family members, they took it all in stride and took the opportunity to snag some incredible candid shots of our nieces and nephews that the whole family treasures!

This husband and wife duo make such a fantastic team. They present a calm, gracious balance of artistry and professionalism, and will blend seamlessly into your vision for your big day. Of the countless decisions you’ll make in planning a wedding, take a deep breath and know that choosing Austin Warnock is rock solid.”

“I met Austin Warnock, and his wife Rebecca, almost ten years ago. They were just dating then, so I’ve had the honor of watching them fall in love and become the incredible team they are today. When I first saw Austin’s photos, years ago, before I ever met my husband, I had an immediate hope in my hear that I might have photos that beautiful of my wedding one day. Eight years later, Austin and Rebecca travelled to St. Louis, and documented every feeling and detail and smile of the day I married my husband, Nate. Austin sees things that others might easily pass by. He took a photo of my dad looking down at his boutonnière as he pinned it on in the mirror, that will be one of my favorite photos for the rest of my life. Austin also did our engagement photos and took incredible pictures four newborn twins, Henry & Rose. His photos adorn almost every wall in our home and years and years down the road, I think they will be the photos that give our kids a glimpse of who their mom and dad were when they were young. And, on top of his innate talent and true care and passion for his work, Austin is just genuinely a good man. Austin and Rebecca are two of the most wonderful people I will ever know. I thank God for their friendship and for the irreplaceable role they played in the biggest moments of my life.”
